Carl Mertens - COUNTRY - carving knife 15 cm
The slicing knife is also often referred to as a meat knife or carving knife (from the French trancher = cut, disassemble). The Carl Mertens ham knife is particularly suitable for cutting wafer-thin slices of meat and/or ham.
Smoked ham, such as Serrano ham, can be cut into wafer-thin slices with this knife. The aroma unfolds best through the wafer-thin cut.
While the name in German derives from purpose, in English the tool is simply referred to as a "slicing knife". (Slice = disk). In Spanish, however, again literally "Cuchillo para jamones".
