Prepare the Dough:
Roll out a sheet of puff pastry on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Generously spread hazelnut cocoa cream (Nutella) on the surface. Place the second sheet of puff pastry on top and press down lightly.
Cut Out Stars:
Use a star-shaped cookie cutter to cut small stars from the dough and set them aside.
Cut Strips:
Cut the remaining dough into long strips, about 4 cm wide.
Shape the Christmas Tree:
Layer the dough strips on top of each other in a snake-like fashion, stacking them to form the shape of a Christmas tree. Thread the tree strips onto a wooden skewer (shashlik skewer). Place a star on top and continue stacking the strips until all the dough is used up.
Bake & Serve:
Place the prepared Christmas trees on a baking tray and bake for 20 minutes at 180°C (350°F) with top and bottom heat, until they are golden brown. After baking, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
Baking Time: 20 minutes at 180°C (top/bottom heat)
Preparation Time: About 25 minutes (including baking time)
