Prepare the dough:
Unroll one puff pastry sheet onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Generously spread Nutella over the surface.
Place the second puff pastry sheet on top and press down gently.
Shape the spider:
To create a round center, use a glass or small bowl to mark a circle about 10 centimeters in diameter.
Cut off two triangular pieces from the top and bottom, leaving the circle in the middle intact.
Then, cut the remaining pastry on both sides of the circle into ten even strips, these will form the spider legs.
Carefully twist each strip to give it a slightly spiral shape.
You can reuse the cut-off pastry by shaping it with cookie cutters and baking it together with the spider.
Bake and decorate:
Brush the puff pastry spider and the leftover pieces with egg and bake in a preheated oven
until golden brown.
After baking, decorate the spider as desired with sugar eyes, powdered sugar or other toppings.
Best served warm and enjoyed fresh from the oven.
