Dumpling Lasagna

Savory, juicy, and layered with delicate wonton wrappers – this dumpling lasagna is a comforting and flavorful twist on a classic favorite, perfectly steam-cooked to melt-in-your-mouth perfection.

Ingredients

For 4 Mini Cocottes

Quantity

400 g minced meat

1 carrot

3 spring onions

100 g napa cabbage

2-3 garlic cloves or garlic powder

approx. 12–16 wonton wrappers

sesame oil

chili oil

salt

pepper

Preparation

Prepare the filling:
Place the minced meat in a large bowl. Add the diced carrots, spring onions, and finely chopped napa cabbage.

Add the sesame oil and soy sauce, then season with garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix everything thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly combined.

Layer the lasagna:
Line a mini cocotte with a wonton wrapper. Spread a layer of the ground meat mixture (about 1 cm thick) on top and smooth it out. Then place another wonton wrapper over it. Repeat this process until the cocotte is filled. The top layer should be a wonton wrapper. Fill the remaining cocottes in the same way.

Steam:
Place the filled dish in a large pan. Pour enough water into the pan to cover the bottom, making sure the baking dish is not floating in the water (about 1–2 cm high). Add about 1 tablespoon of water to each dish. Cover the pan with a lid and steam the dumpling lasagna over medium heat for 15–20 minutes, until the ground meat is fully cooked.

Serve:
After steaming, carefully remove the lasagna from the pan. Drizzle with chili oil, add a little soy sauce on top, and sprinkle with fresh spring onions. Serve immediately while hot.
