Safety ring
The Virobloc safety ring was invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel. It is featured on all folding knives from model No. 06 onwards. The Virobloc is cut from stainless steel and consists of two parts: a fixed section and a sliding section. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (for safe use), it also allows the blade to be locked in the closed position (for safe transport).
