Handle
The PEFC-certified hornbeam wood comes from sustainably managed forests in the Jura and Vercors regions. It is a white wood with minimal grain, making it ideal for applying colors without distortion. The handle is lacquered to enhance protection against moisture and dirt.
Yatagan Blade
The traditional Opinel blade is known as Yatagan. Its shape is inspired by a Turkish sabre with an upturned tip. The blade is ground with an exclusive convex profile that ensures robustness and easy resharpening.
Safety Ring
The Virobloc safety ring was invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel. It is present on all folding knives from model No. 06 onward. Made from stainless steel, the Virobloc consists of two sections: a fixed part and a sliding part. It allows the blade to be locked both in the open position (safe use) and in the closed position (safe transport).
