Safety ring
The Virobloc safety ring was invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel. It is present on all folding knives from model No. 06 onwards. Made of stainless steel, it consists of two sections: one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safe usage), it also allows secure locking when the knife is closed (safe transport).
