Kela - Sugar Tongue
Made of high quality 18/10 stainless steel. The sugar tongs 28 cm long, 5.5 cm wide
Ingredients:
- 3 bottles of dry red wine
- 1 bottle of 108 proof rum
- 2 each untreated lemons and oranges
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 4 cloves
- 1 sugarloaf
Preparing the burnt punch:
Wash the lemons and oranges in hot water and cut them in thin slices, set aside. Pour the rum into a bowl.
Pour the red wine into a pot, add cinnamon sticks, cloves, and citrus slices and heat on the stove.
Please note that the wine should not be allowed to boil!
Now place the sugar holder on the pot. Soak the sugar loaf in rum and place it onto the sugar holder.
Light the sugar loaf and keep pouring rum over it until the sugar has completely melted and dripped into the punch. Please use a ladle, do not pour the rum directly from the bottle onto the sugar loaf,
as it might ignite.
